I Quit!

....Smoking! I bought the patch and I am determined, so that is that. No more! I had my last cigarette and didn't think much about it, I didn't look lovingly at it, or say goodbye, didn't think about it excessively. I am just going back to thinking of myself as smoke free and a person who's got to think of something else to do when I get upset, feel angry, feel hungry. That's all.

Yeah and you thought it was my job. Well, I think the high that I am experiencing from getting the kitty is keeping things even there. I guess. I can't explain it. Maybe its knowing that I could quit the job-ola at any time, and my belief that life will get better when that happens. I have concerns about being home all the time and keeping my spirits up, not getting depressed and continue to make myself care. As me useless therapist says (in many ways it is freeing to refer to her that way)"it's not time to worry about that yet." So damn it, I'm not!

good for you!!!
Quit smoking and don't worry about what you don't need to worry about!

you know, just because you don't work doesn't mean you have to stay at the house all the time, does it? Maybe you could get another p/t job, take some classes, pick up a hobby, volunteer, go blogging ... oh wait... that last one was still staying at home, wasn't it? ;-)

Wow! Wonderful that you are quiting smoking! I am a stay at home mom with way to much free time on my hands at times. I found though that being at home has allowed me to explore areas of interest like painting. I found that I am actually an okay painter. It surprised me how much I love painting, and how it soothes the soul. So maybe you might find a hidden talent if you were to stay at home. Staying at home has also allowed me to explore the world of poems and I have even tried my hand at writing a few myself. Not ready to share those with anyone. My point being staying at home can be turned into a positive for you. If you ever want to chat, please feel free to add me as a friend, and im me. My yahoo id is season_for_angels . I always enjoy meeting new people.

Smiles to all of you. Thank you for your comments. How does that yahoo id work? I have a yahoo account so I guess I set up a name and can IM, hunh? I think I might try that sometime but probably won't use it until I'm home on a regular basis. Thank you Mysti for sharing yours.

The patches helped me lots. Just make sure you stay on them for the full recommended 3 months.

And, WHATEVER you do, don't even have one puff again. EVER. No matter how stressful the situation. (That's what I did 3 weeks ago having stopped for 4 months - and now I've got the whole dang process to face again)
